Chateau Mont-Redon Reserve 2016 Cote Du Rhone Rouge. In our humble opinion the Cote Du Rhone offers the best value for money in the world of wine. Plus from the sensational 2016 vintage, this is now a no brainer.
Not too heavy, not too light, they are just right!
At under $22 this wine will not break the bank, nor overpower your palate. You are eating lighter dishes at this time of year, so a big heavy red doesn’t make a lot of sense.
But then again, you cannot live on white wine or Rose alone.
So if you love mid weight wines packed with flavour and character, this wine is for you.
Mont Redon is one of the largest producers of Chateauneuf-du-pape and this Reserve Cote Du Rhone; a blend of Grenache Shiraz Mouvedre, is a cracker.
It obviously doesn’t hit the heights of their awesome Chateauneuf-du-pape, but when you consider those wines retail at over $80, this wine is a steal in comparison.
A very perfumed wine that is soft, smooth and quite fruity. It is incredibly easy to drink with plenty of red fruits, spicy oak and velvety tannins. There is also just a faint hint of provincial herbs which tells you this is not an Aussie wine.
