Chateau Riotor Rosé 2017 (Cote du Provence) . I have been enjoying Rosé for a few years now, but I just can’t believe how popular it has become in the past 12 months
Salmon pink Rosé is everywhere.
I share a warehouse with one of the larger Sydney based importers and they are moving almost 100 cases a day of this great Rosé; just to the restaurants in Sydney. And it is not even summer.
I have tried this wine on numerous occasions and it is sensational, but there is obviously something going on here and we need to jump on board.
The 2017 vintage was the HIGHEST RANKING ROSE in the Gourmet Traveller magazine tasting and I can see why. It is simply sensational.
When drinking Rosé, the colour is very important. Salmon Pink is what you want and the paler, the better. Also it has to be dry. If you see a Red Rosé, run a million miles, as you are likely to get a sweet version, which is just not on!
Chateau Riotor is one of the best Rosé’s from Provence in the South of France and whilst you can get cheaper versions, this wine really is worth the extra few dollars. Made from a blend of 40% Grenache, 50% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. It has a pale salmon pink colour, (What you want) and delicate flavours of strawberries, red cherries and floral like Provence herb aromas. It is just delicious with a dry and refreshing finish
Get on the Pink bandwagon, as you don’t have to wait for the sunshine to enjoy this wine on a lazy afternoon. Remember, you cannot live on Red and White alone
I still cannot get over 100 cases a day – Amazing!
